FAQ

WHAT IS POWDER COATING?

Powder coating is one type color finishing technique whose final product resembles paint, but it is far more durable and complex. Once powder is applied to an item, it is finished in a high-heat oven to help bond it with the surface of the object. The finished product is a dry, long-lasting, strong coating of color.

HOW IS POWDER COATING DIFFERENT FROM PAINT?

While spray and liquid paint serve an important purpose, sometimes they just aren’t enough for projects that call for a more sustainable, chip-resistant shine.

Here are a few reasons we prefer powder coating over paint:

  • Unlike paint, powder coating does not spread, drip, smudge or take hours to dry.

  • You won’t find any annoying brush strokes or application marks on aa powder coated product, thanks to the seamless application process.

  • Painted items can fade, rust, scratch and chip over time, but your powder coated project will retain its smooth, vibrant coating for a long time.

What separates paint jobs from powder coating jobs is the technique. While you can easily grab a paint from your local home improvement store and tackle a project yourself, powder coating requires specialty tools, like an industrial oven and electrostatic booth. That’s why it’s important to work with a professional with years of experience and the right equipment to handle the job.
